SNUBH have contracts with the following insurance agencies : INT'L SOS, Tricare (TOP Prime), Global Benefits Group, CIGNA International, GAP, UB Care, United Health Insurance, Geo blue and HTH worldwide, BCBS, Metlife, Daman. If your insurance company does not have a contract with SNUBH, you will be required to pay upfront and then file a claim to your insurance company later. For more information about private insurance and other insurance holders from non-USA countries, please contact us at +82-31-787-2034 Please contact your insurance company for a GOP(Guarantee of Payment) letter prior to the appointment date. If your insurance company does not have a contract with the hospital, you have to pay the bill yourself first and after claim your insurance company. Make sure and find out what documents you need from the hospital, in order to get a reimbursement from your insurance company before the comsultation.
2 Visit on your appointment date
ID verification / Register Radiological Images / Check in with the IHC Staff
- First-time visitors have to bring their Alien Registration Card(ARC) or Passport for identification. If you have any medical reports and/or medical images related to treatment or symptoms, please bring them to the appointment (all records must be either in Korean or English). Note, if you are bringing any radiological images, please come to the center 30 minutes prior, so we can help you register the images the before the appointment.
- Foreign Language Services : English, Russian and Arabic. If you need interpretation for Chinese or Mongolian please notify us in advance.
3 Outpatient clinic visit
- If you need a Medical certificate, you have to request the doctor directly during the consulation. After it is written, you can visit Medical Records Desk located on.
- 2nd floor of Bldg 1 or 1st floor of Bldg 2.
- Make sure to bring your ID with you (ARC card, passport, etc.)
- For children under the age of 14, a proof of relationship to the patient and power of attorney from the patient, such as family relation certificate, birth certificate, etc. is required.
- you may have to wait or may have to make an appointment for another day if you visit the hospital without a prior appointment.
4 Complete payment
- We accept all major credit cards and cash (Korean won only)
- At SNUBH you have to make a deposit of the estimated cost of your treatment in order to be admitted. Please have in mind the actual charges could be more or less at the completion of the patient’s treatment.
- Available Services : English Receipt, Itemized (Detailed) Receipt, etc.

1 Schedule your appointment

Patients covered by the Korean National Health Insurance Program (NHI) should bring a referral letter from a local doctor, or else they will have to be reevaluated by a physician from the family medicine department as stated in the NHI guidelines. Please note: SNUBH is a tertiary hospital and the law in Korea requires patients with Korean National Insurance to go first to a primary/secondary hospital before visiting a tertiary hospital.

Patients with Korean National Insurance have to bring a referral letter for the appointment, except for family medicine appointments, for the Korean National Insurance to be applied. The law in Korea requires patients with Korean National Insurance to go to a primary/secondary hospital before visiting a tertiary hospital. You can get the referral letter from another hospital (usually a primary) or from our family medicine doctor. For a referral letter from our family medicine doctor, you have to make an appointment in advance. Please note you will be charged separately for the family medicine consultation.

Admission Information

The admission process at SNUBH is initiated through an admission order, which must be undertaken by a SNUBH physician. Prior to admission, the following documents must be submitted to the Administration Department (Admission Office) located on the 2nd floor of the Hospital's Main Building.

Doctor Consultation

Through outpatient/emergency care the doctor in charge will decide he need for hospitalization. If needed there will be an issuance of a Doctor's order for admission.

Reservation for admission

Visit the Administration Department (Admission Office) located on the 2nd floor of the Hospital's Main Building or the 1st floor of building no. 2 to make arrangement for hospital admission. There you will be able to choose from a variety of rooms of your choosing.

Please note
- Foreigners without the Korean National Healthcare insurance are required to deposit sufficient funds before admission. (Usually half of the estimated cost).
- We cannot guarantee the availability of a particular room on the day of your admission, however we will do our best to make sure your needs are accommodated.

The day of admission

On the day of admission : at 11:30 a.m. we will call you or send a message to notify you of room availability and allocation.

- You should visit the hospital after you have received a phone call from the hospital notifying you of room availability and allocation.

Admission Procedure

Before you leave to the hospital bring the following items:
- Doctor's order for admission
- Admission Consent Form
- Hospital ID Card
Visit the Administration Department (Admission Office) located on the 2nd floor of the Hospital's Main Building or the 1st floor of building no. 2

You may go up to the hospital ward where your room located. Upon entering the ward go to the nurse station to find your room and recieve further instructions.

Discharge Process of International Patients

Screening Process before entry

There will be a screening process by the emergency center medical team before you are allowed to enter to reduce risks of spreading of infectious diseases.

Vital Sign Check and Consultation

After the nurses check a patients vital signs he/she will have a consultation with the ER physician to check the symptoms and he might order tests to give a proper diagnosis and determine how to treat the patient.

Treatment Course Decision

After the tests results come up, the doctor in charge will decide the course of treatment. Whether there will be a need for patient hospitalization or follow-up in the outpatient clinic the patient will be informed of the plan.

patient.

PLEASE NOTE

Guide for guardian or care givers:

Only one guardian can reside with the patinet in the ER.
Each patient is assigned a doctor and nurse.
You can inquire about the patient at the nurse's station.

General guidelines

If you have a fever or respiratory symptoms, please call the KCDC call center (T. 1339) or the nearby public health center (Area number + 120)in your area first, you will be given instructions on what to do. Visiting the hospital without doing so will put the rest of the patients, visitors and hospital employees at risk.

Under the current situation we kindly ask all visitors to cooperate with us and to follow the guidelines listed below:

Wear a face mask when visiting. In case of non-compliance you will be denied entry to the hospital. Any mask with exhalation valves, gaiters, bandanas, scarves and gas masks will not be permitted.
Face shields should not be worn instead of a mask.
All visitors will undergo a body temperature check before being allowed entry.
Hand hygiene is important so clean your hands with sanitizers before and upon entry. Please note Handwashing with soap and water is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses, sanitizers should not be a replacement for handwashing with soap and water.
Please minimize conversations in the elevators.
Do not talk loudly on the phone.
No visitors are permitted until further notice. We appreciate your understanding as we uphold our commitment to keeping patients, caregivers, employees and the community safe.
