Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) declared 2026 as the first year to set a new beginning and new standards, accelerating medical innovation and the realization of a future hospital blueprint.
The hospital held its 2026 kick-off ceremony at the hospital auditorium on Jan. 2.
The event was attended by major officials and staff members. The ceremony proceeded with the declaration of the opening, the pledge of allegiance, the New Year's address by the hospital president, the New Year's address by the labor union chairman, a cutting ceremony by representatives of each job category, and a New Year's greeting for staff members.

“Having passed through the long tunnel of the medical-government conflict, it is now time to go beyond overcoming the crisis and start a new leap forward.” SNUBH CEO and President Song Jung-han said.
The hospital plans to focus on three key tasks this year.
First, SNUBH said it would strengthen clinical competitiveness through medical innovation. The hospital plans to establish a command center to optimize the allocation of beds and operating rooms and prepare a smart resource management system through AI-based digital transformation.
Second, it intends to achieve an expansion in treatment volume and improvement in medical quality through data-based decision-making while strengthening its role as a hospital centered on severe and essential medical care.
Also, the hospital also aims to fully realize the blueprint for a future hospital by pushing for the opening of the Metropolitan Infectious Disease Hospital by 2032 and incrementally constructing a professor research building, a clinical education training center, and an advanced outpatient center to complete a future-oriented university hospital system.

Additionally, the hospital will foster its Healthcare Innovation Park as a health and medical R&D platform based on the designation as the first research-driven hospital by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
Globally, the hospital aims to expand its global medical business territory through consulting for the operation of a general hospital in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and a Korean-style health check-up center in Los Angeles, the U.S.
Aside from operations, SNUBH will build an organizational culture of communication and consideration.
The hospital plans to create a foundation for sustainable development by strengthening trust, respect, and open communication among members within the changed work environment.
“The year 2026 is a year to start a new leap beyond recovery,” Song said. “Let us all grow together at the center of change with one mind and move forward vigorously with the spirit of the Red Horse."
